REVIEW: Proton - Product of Hard Work (E.P)

Track list:
1. Intro (Prod. XVII & Fade)
2. Breathe (Prod. ARN Arrogant)
3. Lonely Nights (Prod. Proton)
4. Trapdoor Freestyle Pt.2 (Prod. Mr Carmack)
5. High Fashion ft. Dubz-D & TempoArtist (Prod. Proton)
6. Still Pro (Prod. Climaks)
7. Show Out (Prod. Stööki Sound)
8. 24-7 ft. KashWallis, Dazer, ellzBS & Argon (Prod. Plastician)

Proton forced his way into the scene with a quick power move during the war season which was popping off after Maxsta dropped It's Not What It Looks Like. Pro has since then used this buzz more than wisely and made his way on to LOTM5 clashing Realz which in my opinion was one of the best on the DVD. There is no doubt that talent was there from the beginning Proton just lacked the exposure but now he is getting the acclaim and using it to his full advantage. I definitely recommend downloading this E.P as it is consistently strong lyrically and the production on it is something to be proud of.

In this blog I will go through track by track and review...

 1. Intro
Production on this track is meeeeeeeeeental! Big up XVII and Fade on this. Proton rides the beat well and it suits his flow well. A very strong track to start off the E.P which depicts his journey and mentions the reason for his buzz.

2. Breathe
A track which also features on the LOTM5 DVD and has a catchy hook to it. Definitely one to cement his name as a top artist in the grime scene and I have to give him props for mentioning Stevenage in a bar. Generally a sick track and Pro comes across as very humble in this track through thanking the new fans that are showing him support.

3. Lonely Nights
This track mellows down the tone of the E.P and gives you food for thought. Proton recognises his sincere nature and hardships in life which lead him to as the title suggests 'Lonely Nights'. Again giving a humble stance to the game.

4. Trapdoor Freestyle Pt.2
I personally had heard this track before listening to it on the E.P and it's another one of those productions that are done extremely well. It seems Pro is definitely in touch with top producers which only enhance his tracks as a whole. This track is a solid and consistent portrayal of Proton in the modern day which can only be a positive thing for him.

5. High Fashion ft. Dubz-D & TempoArtist
The chorus is extremely catchy on this track and really makes the track what it is in my opinion. Dubz-D reminds me of Dizzee Rascal when he first comes in on the tune and all features act consistent on this but I think all of them could have gone harder on this one.

6. Still Pro
This one really gassed me from the start the flow accompanied by the beat is too much. Proton states in this track that he has "the flows on lock" and I couldn't put it better myself in the case of this track. Proton is certainly Still Pro.

7. Show Out
The drop on this beat is crazy definitely one to vibes to. The flow is consistently strong but differs to other tracks on the E.P. This track seems to take a different stance to others on the E.P with a change in tempo being introduced into the flow and the beat catering for this need which works well.

8. 24-7 ft. KashWallis, Dazer, ellzBS & Argon
I hadn't heard of any of these features on this track however they all held it up well and killed the beat. I'll definitely be looking out for the features and individual projects they've got going on so props to Pro for bringing them to light. Pro himself held it up consistently like he has done throughout the E.P to make another strong tune.

REVIEW: Triple Darkz [SHUTDOWN SESSIONS]

Triple Darkz from The Force drops his Shutdown Sessions for ImpactTV. Triple Darkz is a prospering artist in the East Midlands grime scene and with his team they have established a small buzz in the Midlands as a result of putting out fresh content regularly.

Darkz has a gritty flow mixed in with comical bars at points but delivers a strong performance in this video. There are a few things to be worked on in controlling his flow as sometimes it seems to fall off beat but Darkz is clearly still developing with his team and I feel he is one to watch in the future if he keeps up his workrate.

Darkz has informed me has a ton of new things to come in the new year. Keep an eye out for him and his future projects.

REVIEW: Macca - Ride or Die

Macca brings us a fresh new sound with his track Ride or Die. This track is the first one taken from the StayFresh artists new E.P Top Floor. After not hearing much content from Macca for a while this is definitely a nice way to quickly reestablish himself in the game.

I saw a discussion between Durrty Goodz, Rage and Top Dolla on GrimeReportTV regarding the status of women in the grime / urban scene. This track is definitely one to big up the ladies but also gives a subtle hood and basey flow to it. The beat produced by Zdot not only fits extremely well with the track but switches up the sound to fit the chorus and verses which I feel gives the track that something special that others lack.

Macca has always been a well known face in the StayFresh team and he seems to wish to further his solo career with his new E.P which I'm sure will feature familiar faces. I'll certainly be taking a look at what Top Floor has in store.

INTRODUCING [SERIES 1: BLOG 1]: OUTZAUDIO

Outzaudio is a young upcoming MC from Northampton and is regularly seen amongst other Northampton based MC's such as Izzie Gibbs who Outz has frequently collaborated with on his come up. Outzaudio is still a developing artist and working on perfecting the angles of his career to progress with his location being a downside to being apart of the grime community with Northampton grime being fairly new to the scene.

Outzaudio first came to my attention on JDZmedia sending for Darkerz which at the time I honestly didn't think much of. However I have seen progression throughout his time as an artist and teaming up with The Force is definitely a step in the right direction in the above video entitled "I'm Lean". Outz has clearly stepped up his game since then and is looking more and more like an established artist with everything he does. The track itself is quite a catchy tune with adequate visuals to fit the tone with the inclusion of strong lyricists for those that feature in the track.

Outz has also featured on P110 Media and gives us a Bar for Bar of which he highlights his frustration with the grime game put sets the bar high for himself and exceeds levels set in prior videos. He mentions his passion for the game with his skippy flow and the beat compliments the lyrics.

I'll be interested to see what Outz has to offer in the future and believe he does have potential to make something of his career if he works hard at it. I'd like to see more tracks from him definitely rather than freestyles but as aforementioned he has a bright future.

REVIEW: Real Diddz [SPITFIRE]

Real Diddz representing Get Busy Music gives JDZmedia his spitfire. Diddz, from Nottingham has built up his name recently as an established MC within the Nottingham grime scene. He has featured on Jack and Reload and UGX Set Pace where he clashed Jay Eye on the set.

Diddz has a distinct gritty sound and he displays this gutter flow in his Spitfire. Diddz switches his flow up during the video a lot and this is definitely a positive to this artist as he adjusts the tempo seemingly in full control of his flow. The beat fits perfectly with the image Diddz is trying to portray within this video and he comes hard overall with this being one of my personal favourite Spitfire's and one of Diddz's top performances.

Diddz has a lot of potential to progress as an artist and is one of the leading figures pushing the Nottingham grime scene. He is certainly one to watched in terms of development and work rate as he could push his name forward if he follows through with an adequate amount of effort.

REVIEW: Eyez | Warm Up Sessions

Eyez has had a busy year, the Derby based MC has featured on a variety of media channels and not long ago featured on TooHardForTV as a more or less unknown artist. This has definitely been Eyez's year in terms of development and exposure as he has progressed to become an established artist not only featuring on SBTV but gaining exposure in the dungeon on LOTM5.

This video shows Eyez's ambition and motivation to make something of his career. He shows passion to progress through his lyrics and a determination aided by his wordplay in this video. Eyez shows why he's one of the hardest up and coming artists in the UK at the moment. Eyez also shows us a side we haven't seen from him before as he sings the chorus of this performance which furthers his passion within the video despite being the strongest vocalist it works well as part of this scenario.

Eyez recently released an E.P under the title WHAM! hosted by English Frank and Mic Righteous which can be purchased here. He also has another E.P coming called WoiOi! which is highly anticipated in the grime community as Eyez's buzz seems to digress so be sure to get that when it comes out.
